The Botanical Analyzer, as the name implies, analyzes mutated Plant Seeds. It requires a Duplicant with the Improved Farming II Skill to operate it. Unidentified Seeds can not be used even if the mutation they have has been analyzed on another seed before.
While requiring Improved Farming II, using the Botanical Analyzer is a research errand, using the Science Skill.
Tips
- As a Science Building, the Botanical Analyzer receives a +10% efficiency bonus when placed inside a Laboratory.
- The Cell of Interest of this building, where identified Seed will drop, is the far left one.
- Since mutated Seeds are a potentially infinite resource, the Botanical Analyzer is a great way to have Duplicants gain Science skill, which, in turn, allows them to level up faster.
Bugs
- The Botanical Analyzer does not actually consume Power or produce Heat.
Trivia
- Whenever a Seed is dropped from a plant it will pop up as, for example Mealwood (Specialized), even if that mutation was not yet analyzed. The seed, however, will still be named as Mealwood (Unidentified Subspecies).
- Certain plant modifiers still appear in the Item Infobox of the seed even when unidentified, which usually maps to only 1 possible Plant mutation.
