Canister Filler allows duplicants to manually transport small quantities of gas around the colony without prebuilt gas pipelines. This can be useful for taking certain gaseous elements to very distant locations or when only small quantities of gas are required, such that building a full series of gas pipes would seem highly inconvenient.

Mechanics

The canister filler requires no power, but its gas input must be filled by another building's gas output, including directly from a Gas Pump. The canister filler can hold up to 200 kg of gas, allowing multiple different gas types to be stored simultaneously. If there is an appropriately configured Canister Emptier or Canister Drainer set to accept one of its currently held gases or an unfilled Soda Fountain (requiring Carbon Dioxide), a Duplicant will come to the filler and pick up the requested gas, up to the whole 200 kg.

Gases can only be taken by a Duplicant from the canister filler if there is a building requesting them. The player may alternatively eject the gas from the canister filler by selecting the building and clicking the "Empty Storage" button within the database popup window, or adjust the slider limiting its maximum capacity. Ejecting the contents of the canister filler will cause all stored gases to drop in canister form, creating a separate canister for each of the ejected elements. Ejection allows the building to begin accepting new contents immediately.

The gas canisters cannot be placed in storage, and they can only be removed from the world by designating and delivering them to a Canister Emptier, Canister Drainer, or Soda Fountain, or emptying them in place in the same way as liquid bottles.
