Communal Table is a public furniture item to which Duplicants can use to consume their food. Communal Tables reduce stress from eating off the floor and is the main component for the Banquet Hall Room. They can also satisfy the Dining Table room requirement for both a Mess Hall and a Great Hall. It can store up to 5 g Table Salt and both consumes 1 g Table Salt and grant the duplicant +1 morale per use. Eating food alongside one or more duplicants grants an additional +1 morale bonus.

Tips

Creating a dedicated Mess Hall, Great Hall, or Banquet Hall is highly recommended. Making this area much nicer than the rest of your colony is an easy way to reduce stress. Lavishing the area with lamps, art, and high decor items amplifies the de-stressing effect. Including a Ration Box or ideally a Refrigerator with the setup saves time and stores food efficiently.

Rather than building multiple tables, having Downtime schedules offset from one another is a good way to have a single Communal Table handle dozens of Duplicants.

Wood may not be readily available on all asteroid starts. Instead, Plywood can be created at a Plywood Press after salvaging Plant Husk from plants, and cracking Shine Bug eggs for Resin.pngResin Steam.png Refined Carbon.png Solid Resin.png. Resin can also be processed from Amber.pngAmber Resin.png Fossil.png which drops in large amounts from Lura Plants.

Making a Dining Hall close to food production areas saves Duplicants the hassle of having to transport food long distances. Duplicants will automatically use an assigned dining table, and otherwise use a public dining table.
