Conveyor Rail transports solid materials on a track between Conveyor Loaders and Conveyor Receptacles or Chutes.
Conveyor rail can run through tiles.
Requires Duplicant with Mechatronics Engineering skill to build.
Tips
- Conveyor system might be the superior method of heat transfer due to its high throughput (enabled by their mass). However, to get effects similar to insulated or radiant pipes it must be run under Insulated Tile or Metal Tile.
- However, this requires considerable amounts of Refined Metal, the acquisition of which can be troublesome and with significant opportunity costs.
- Sublimating items will continue to do so while on conveyor line and in related containers, thus transporting them manually is still preferable.
- Alternatively conveyor line might be run through pressurized rooms or walls.
Bugs
- Conveyor rails have a peculiar heat-exchange behavior, transported items exchange heat with the tile they are on and the tile under it (even if it is heavily insulated). It is likely due to them being counted as an item "lying on the floor" of the passed tile.
