Insulated Door
Significantly reduces Temperature exchange between climate-controlled rooms.
Dimensions

Rotation
Turnable
Category
-13.5 (Radius: 3 tiles)
Materials
800 kg
Insulated Doors create an airtight seal that maintains temperature, atmosphere and pressure between areas while closed. They cost 800 kg and 2 Reed Fiber or Feather Fiber to build. Insulated doors take 4 seconds to open, and another 4 to close. They cannot be powered or sped up.
Tips
- The 4 seconds required to open or close an Insulated Door is double that of of a Manual Airlock, and eight times that of a powered Mechanized Airlock. Because of its slow speed (and by extension, its tendency to close on duplicants who are following others through the door), it might be more efficient to install a Liquid Lock or to run a Transit Tube Crossing through a vacuumed chamber, depending on your duplicants' athletics attributes or power generation/resource progression, respectively.
- The door does not prevent gas/liquid exchange while open.
- Like other doors, insulated doors are immune to pressure damage.
- The insulated door cannot be controlled by automation.
- A Liquid Lock can be placed on either side of the insulated door to prevent gas exchange even while open.
- Deconstructing a vertical insulated door surrounded by tiles on the left, right and bottom will result in a natural tile, of the same material as the door, being created on the bottom block.
- The mass of tile will be half the mass of the door.
- This does not work for
Graphite or
Isosap. - The Reed Fiber/Feather Fiber will be buried in the natural tile.
