Oxygen Not Included Wiki:Admin noticeboard
The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~
) when posting an issue.
Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:
- This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the community talk page.
- Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
- Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding
{{delete |reason for deletion request}}
to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion. - Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
- Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
- For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.
In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}
, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Math formulas in unreadable colours
Hi. It looks like the styles (colours) for equations are swapped between light and dark mode. Now, in the dark mode they are black on dark blue, making them hard to read, https://ibb.co/v3x5xty (notice the equations are not only in the table)
And in the light mode, the math text is white on white - the text ih hard to read in the table and completely disappears in the main part. https://ibb.co/0MxfXLb

- Hi Bartekltg. I'm not an admin here but I fixed the problem (If the problem is only on the Thermal Conductivity page). The problem is because an editor made the formulas white when there is no styling for the dark mode but they become black now as the sitewide stylesheet inverses all formulas in dark mode.

Hello, I've set up a style for Navbox, so it's got a slightly more presentable style.
Old Navbox: https://imgur.com/ltQhOjP
New Navbox: https://imgur.com/EpAQWYA
If you can copy the following style to the page: MediaWiki:Hydradark.css~
table.navbox { border: 1px solid #3C4258; background: rgba(0,0,0,0); clear: both; font-size: 88%; margin: auto; padding: 1px; text-align: center; width: 100%; } .navbox-title, .navbox-abovebelow, table.navbox th { padding-left: 1em; padding-right: 1em; text-align: center; } .navbox-title, table.navbox th { background: #A74A79; color: #fff; } .navbox-odd { background-color: #323641; } .navbox-abovebelow, .navbox-group, .navbox-subgroup .navbox-title { background-color: #A74A55; color: #fff; } .navbox-title, .navbox-abovebelow, table.navbox th { padding-left: 1em; padding-right: 1em; text-align: center; } .navbox-group { font-weight: bold; padding-left: 1em; padding-right: 1em; white-space: nowrap; } th.navbox-title a { color: #fff; }

Broken schematic template
The template for Template:schematic is broken. The discussion points the cause of issue to something about javascript getting nuked. can somebody take a look and fix it? Chintam (talk) 14:31, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
- Its base template is Template:Tab. Is the original template in other wiki still function properly? -- Ozcuraz (talk) 11:28, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

Version template
I have added the Version template. Please start using it on pages you edit. This way we can see pages requiring attention in the Category Potentially outdated whenever a new release comes in (and the template gets updated with its release number.) SchlauFuchs (talk) 01:13, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
Currently the only page showing up in the Outdated category is the Version Template, what needs to be done to make all outdated pages appear in that category?Captain Eek (talk) 07:13, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- The outdated pages require affected pages to be purged at least once, then the list gets updated. SchlauFuchs (talk) 10:02, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- My fault, fixed the template. SchlauFuchs (talk) 10:09, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Alianin, I don't know what tags to use to not include the Version Template/doc itself in the category Potentially outdated, just because its example triggers so. Help, please. [http://badges.steamprofile.com/profile/default/steam/76561198027193737.png] (talk) 16:41, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

Math
I get (PNG conversion failed; check for correct installation of latex and dvipng (or dvips + gs + convert)): \frac{1}{2} on the temperature management guide.
I feel a bit frustrated with the Math extension now, do we have better alternatives? SchlauFuchs (talk) 20:54, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- I fixed the math for you-- it seems to come up with this error when previewing, but once the page's cache actually gets refreshed, it'll generate the LaTeX properly. The issue you were having with the other formula was that the
°
wasn't accepted in the math tags, but you can replace this with the LaTeX^\circ
(make sure you follow it with a space). Rezecib (talk) 17:00, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
Zebra Tables
So some of the infoboxes are getting a bit difficult to read, such as the one on Natural Gas Generator, because of the rows have multiple lines in them. As a solution to this, I've been looking into zebra-striping the tables. I have a working version on Rezecib using the personal stylesheet on User:Rezecib/common.css. If we could merge this into MediaWiki:Common.css, then I'd be able to proceed with zebra-striping the infoboxes. Rezecib (talk) 17:03, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
Zebra stripes seem to be on "Item infobox"->Cooking Station, but not on "Resource infobox"->Dirt. Klei_ T • C 09:59, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
Translation to PT-BR
Hi, just stating that I am translating the pages of the English Wiki in my language (Brazilian Portuguese) and following the recommendations in accordance with the guidelines of Gamepedia (https://help.gamepedia.com/Translation_guidelines). I wonder if there is any specific guidance from Wiki administration. There is some?
So far so it is: https://oxygennotincluded.gamepedia.com/Oxygen_Not_Included_Wiki/br

Request to enable Database Dump
Hello
There currently aren't any database dumps available for download at https://oxygennotincluded.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Statistics. A user is making low-quality edits, refusing criticism, arguing and edit-warring
Hi there,
There has been a lot of activity lately from Rockemala (talk • contribs • logs • block log) on this wiki. And while a portion of their contributions appear to be made with good purpose, a lot of their edits have been problematic and/or disruptive. Some of the biggest issues that I have seen so far include:
- - Renaming/redirecting pages a LOT - sometimes with good reason, I think, but also sometimes for no apparent reason (e.g. Errand is now Order, no idea why)
- - Absolutely littering pages with ellipses at the end of sentences, if there is even the slightest possibility the sentence is incomplete and/or related to content on other pages
- - Generally poor grammar
- - Littering pages with
<noinclude>
and/or<includeonly>
for no reason at all - - Rearranging contents of articles with no clear purpose (e.g. here) and in violation of how other, similar pages are organized throughout the wiki
- - Overuse of images within article text
- - Absolutely littering pages with references (
<ref>
) to the version number of the game that they checked a given piece of info in, AND - - Unwillingness to use the Version template in accordance to the Editors' Manual
- - A general lack of understanding of the usage of templates - especially templates specific to this wiki (infoboxes, the Version template, etc.), AND
- - An unwillingness to learn how to use said templates
- - A lack of understanding of how to look up information within the game and apply that information when editing the wiki
- - An unwillingness to learn how to match the style of the wiki in general
At first I attempted to fix some of the shortcomings of a small handful of his edits, with care and good faith myself, only for them to start edit-warring by instantly and completely reverting my changes, then complaining about it to me on my talk page. Further interaction with them there, in which I have continued to attempt to make every effort to be polite and have good faith, has revealed that they are unwilling to accept any criticism and unwilling to do things how they were previously being done on this wiki. After my short correspondence with them there, which resulted in them doubling down in the face of criticism and continuing to assault my talk page with poorly-worded complaints, I have decided to take this to the admins in the hope of a more fruitful resolution to this.
While a number of the edits they have made have contained improvements which may selectively warrant keeping, all of the attempts I have made in good faith to improve on any of them which are lacking or even wrong (e.g. here) have been reverted by them in what I consider to constitute an edit war in violation of our conduct policy. In order to not participate in edit warring myself, I am not continuing to attempt to correct any of their mistakes, but instead I would like the admins to intervene (somehow?) with them. I am not sure what action should be taken, but I - and others with whom I have spoken about this on the official Discord channel for the wiki - feel that they are actively making the wiki worse.
Thank you for your time and attention. Fistsh (talk) 02:03, 27 May 2023 (UTC) . . . (P.S. - while I was typing this, the user in question was still spamming my Talk page with repeated, largely-unintelligible arguments.)
- Thank you, for letting me know. The patience you showed on your talk page is commendable!
- Most changes were reverted. Please review your recent edits (these should be the current version now) and undo more as needed.
- The user should not make any edits until we (Rockemala and me) discuss how to do so properly. They haven't been banned to give them the benefit of the doubt of their good faith. I'll be keeping an eye on it too, but if they continue to harass you on your talk page, or are making edits that disregard the style of the wiki, please DM me on Discord.

A unit of geyser average yield
Hi, in page of Geyser, the table's unit of "Average Yields" are wrong. It says kg/cycle, but the numbers in the table are gram/second. We can easily confirm that on other websites like oni-db: https://oni-db.com/details/geysergenerichotwater
I've fixed it once but it had been reverted by other user. I can try to fix it again, but I'm afraid of being fixed again by the same user. Can someone take care of it?
thanks,
- Hexicube (talk • contribs • logs • block log) I saw some angry edit summaries. Did you reach a consensus on the average yields? KGello (talk) 17:33, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
Categories Need A Major Cleanup
Hello everyone,
I am noticing that some of the categories for the wiki are... a bit of a mess. As stated in Best Practices: Categories on wiki.gg: "A wiki needs a proper category tree in order to drive traffic to your wiki".
Yet, the "Food Category" looks like this:
- Category:Food
- Category:Food (Spaced Out) < shouldn't this be subcategory of food?
- Category:Food Plants
- Category:Food Plants (Spaced Out) < shouldn't this be subcategory of food plants?
And now with the introduction of Frosty Planet Pack, there are new categories being called for that follow this unorganisation:
I suggest some new category systems, following something like this:
- Main Category: Plants
- Sub Category: Food Plants
- Sub Sub Categories:
- Base Game
- SO
- FP
- etc
- Sub Category: Industrial Plants
- Sub Sub Categories:
- Base Game
- SO
- FP
- etc
- Sub Category: Decorative Plants
- Sub Sub Categories:
- Base Game
- SO
- FP
- etc
Additionally, some categories are doubling as actual article pages, example Category:Gas. I have read the talk page on why this was done, but I am unsure I agree with the reasoning. Combining information pages/articles with category pages seems to go against the best practice guidlines, and makes it harder to find what you're looking for.
I am concerned that if we don't start tidying up categories now, then by the time the next DLC comes along, the mess will be too big and we will become one of those wikis that send you in link/redirect circles.
I've also brought this up in the ONI wiki-discord channel, so please let me know your thoughts guys.

ElementTooltip template issue
The ElementTooltip template seems to behave incorrectly. On most pages, the content of the tooltip is displayed in the main text but not in a tooltip. This makes reading any page with it very difficult.
For some reason, it works fine on Template:ElementTooltip, but doesn't on Template:ElementTooltip/doc.
WhiteShadow58 (talk) 18:09, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hey,
- I did some work on it today, including where the CSS styling for it is located. Maybe it was behaving weirdly for a little while as cache didn't completely load for you?
- I see no issues on the pages I have checked right now, but I always hard clear my cache.
- Can you tell me if that behavior still occurs and on which pages? Thank you.
- Untitled7 (talk) 18:53, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the great work! You're right; all I had to do was purge the wiki cache.
- Everything appears as it should.WhiteShadow58 (talk) 16:04, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
Request to enable HotCat
Hi, I would like to request that an Admin install HotCat. I would like to add categories to all of the images files and this would be greatly speed up my effort. Thank you. Thuraya Salaris (talk) 20:20, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
