Research Portal
On the starting asteroids added by The Frosty Planet Pack (Ceres and Ceres Minor) and The Prehistoric Planet Pack (Relica and Relica Minor), one Research Portal will be spawned close to the Printing Pod.
Usage
The building emits a bit of light, similar to a smaller Ceiling Light originating from the top-middle tile. Even if it visually appears to turn off once the researches are unlocked, the portal still emits light and counts for the Laboratory room.

Interacting with the Research Portal will instantly unlock the following researches:

It also plays a cutscene that:
- Reveals the potential impact zone should Demolior collide.
- Reveals a point of interest (POI) showing a prebuilt Meteor Blaster. Rummaging the nearby Suit Lockers will yield 4 Intracosmic Blastshots.
- Displays an on-screen countdown until collision.
Note: not activating the Research Portal has no bearing on when Demolior impacts.
Trivia
Despite the light visually turning off after the Research Portal is used, it will continue to emit light indefinitely.
