Solid Filter is a building out of the Shipping tab and works the same as Liquid Filter and Gas Filter.
Usage
The Solid Filter has 2 outputs, the standard green output and another orange output in the center. The orange output is for the solid that was selected to be filtered out, and the green is for all the other solids that come through the filter. For example, using a Conveyor Loader, you may send the mixture of materials produced by a Pip ranch into the solid filter and send Wood to a separate pipe for use in a Wood Burner.
It only draws Power while it is in use (if it has solids moving through it). This means it is optimal to sort out the expected solids first. For example: a solid filtration system that primally finds Polluted Dirt with Pacu Eggs and Pacu Fillet sometimes should have a Polluted Dirt Solid Filter first and then the second most common solid, then the third. Note: you can work out how common a given solid is by storing solids from the area into a Storage Bin until full, then looking at the contents.
When disabled by automation, the Solid Filter does not allow items to move through it, whether or not they are the selected item to be filtered. Therefore, in order to avoid backing up the conveyor network, a bypass must be used.
