Ventilation buildings are needed to organize the flow of gases around the base.
List of ventilation buildings
In | Name | Description | Automation | Power | Dimensions | Materials | Research |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Drains Gas canisters into Gas Pipes. A canister drainer's Element Filter can be designate areas for specific gas storage. |

Gas Distribution | ||||
Empties Gas canisters back into the world. A canister emptier's Element Filter can designate areas for specific gas storage. |
1 x 3 tiles | 100 kg ![]() |
Distillation | ||||
Automatically stores piped Gases into canisters for manual transport. Canisters allow Duplicants to manually deliver gases from place to place. |
3 x 2 tiles | 400 kg ![]() |
Portable Gases | ||||
Runs one Gas Pipe section over another without joining them. Can be run through wall and floor tile. Separate pipe systems prevent mingled contents from causing building damage. |
3 x 1 tiles | 50 kg ![]() |
Ventilation (Research) | ||||
Sieves one Gas from the air, sending it into a dedicated Pipe. All gases are sent into the building's output pipe, except the gas chosen for filtering. |

-120 W |
3 x 1 tiles | 50 kg ![]() |
Filtration | ||
Tracks the mass of gas flow through the pipe. Connects to an Automation grid to automatically turn Gas flow off when the specified amount has passed through it. |
Input Green: Reset counter and start gas flow Red: Nothing Output Green: When the total amount of gas meets the set value. Red: When the amount of gas is below the set value. |
-10 W |
1 x 2 tiles | HVAC | |||
Sends a Green Signal when the selected Gas is detected within a pipe. Element sensors can be used to detect the presence of a specific gas in a pipe. |
Output Green: Chosen gas is detected Red: Chosen gas is not detected |
1 x 1 tiles | 25 kg ![]() |
HVAC | |||
Sends a Green Signal or Red Signal based on the internal Germ count of the pipe. Germ sensors can help control automation behavior in the presence of germs. |
Output Green: When the germ count in the pipe meets the criteria Red: When the germ count in the pipe does not meet the criteria |
1 x 1 tiles | Pathogen Diagnostics | ||||
Sends a Green Signal or a Red Signal when pipe contents enter the chosen Temperature range. Thermo sensors disable buildings when their pipe contents reach a certain temperature. |
Output Green: When the temperature of pipe content meets the criteria Red: When the temperature of pipe content does not meet the criteria |

HVAC | |||
Carries Gas between Outputs and Intakes. Can be run through wall and floor tile. Gas pipes are used to connect the inputs and outputs of ventilated buildings. |
1 x 1 tiles | Ventilation (Research) | |||||
Draws in Gas runs it through Pipes. Must be immersed in Gas. Piping a pump's output to another building's intake will send gas to that building. |
Input Green: Enable Red: Disable |
-240 W |

Ventilation (Research) | ||
Allows Gases to be loaded to the storage of a linked rocket. Automatically links when built to the side of a Rocket Platform or another Rocket Port. Uses the gas filters set on the linked Rocket Platform. Rockets must be landed to load or unload resources. |
Input Green: Enable Red: Disable |

Advanced Gas Flow | ||
Allows Gases to be unloaded from the storage of a linked rocket. Automatically links when built to the side of a Rocket Platform or another Rocket Port. Uses buil-in gas filters. Rockets must be landed to load or unload resources. |

Advanced Gas Flow | ||
Connects to an Automation grid to automatically turn Gas flow on or off. Automated piping saves power and time by removing the need for Duplicant input. |
Input Green: Turn flow on Red: Turn flow off |
-10 W |

Improved Ventilation | ||
Controls the Gas volume permitted through Pipes. Valves control the amount of gas that moves through pipes, preventing waste. |
1 x 2 tiles | 50 kg ![]() |
Pressure Management | ||||
Releases Gas from Gas Pipes. Vents are an exit point for gases from ventilation systems. |
Input Green: Enable Red: Disable |
1 x 1 tiles | 50 kg ![]() |
Ventilation (Research) | |||
Releases Gas from Gas Pipes into high pressure locations. High pressure Vents can expel gas into more highly pressurized environments. |
Input Green: Enable Red: Disable |
1 x 1 tiles | Improved Ventilation | ||||
Carries Gas with minimal change in Temperature. Can be run through wall and floor tile. Pipe insulation prevents gas contents from significantly changing temperature in transit. |
1 x 1 tiles | 400 kg ![]() |
Improved Ventilation | ||||
Draws in a small amount of Gas and runs it through Pipes. Must be immersed in gas. Mini pumps are useful for moving small quantities of gas with minimum power draw. |
Input Green: Enable Red: Disable |
-60 W |
1 x 2 tiles | 50 kg ![]() |
Valve Miniaturization | ||
Carries Gas, allowing extreme Temperature exchange with the surrounding environment. Can be run through wall and floor tile. Radiant pipes pumping cold gas can be run through hot areas to help cool them down. |
