Payloads are deployed from an Orbital Cargo Module in orbit around a planetoid or shot from an Interplanetary Launcher.

The Payload will land on a random position unless there is a Targeting Beacon on the planetoid.

If there is a beacon, it will land on top, within 3 places to the left, or within two places to the right of the beacon.

Payloads carry at most 200kg at once, and can be either opened manually by a Duplicant or delivered it to a Payload Opener, which will then open them automatically (Payloads can be delivered by an Auto-Sweeper, duplicants or rovers).

The internal storage is sealed, preventing the contents from offgassing. It does not insulate its content.
