Blueprint
Blueprints are cosmetic skins to customize your buildings and your duplicant's clothes & overjoyed responses. Once unlocked a blueprint can be used in any of your colonies.
Ways to obtain
Permanent Collection
Some blueprints are part of your permanent collection and are automatically unlocked. Those blueprints have the quality "Universal".
Timed Drops
Timed Drops are the primary way of obtaining blueprints and unlock after a random amount of gameplay each week (resets Thursday 21:40 UTC±0) . Currently you can get 3 blueprints per week and usually within 6 hours. When a timed drop is ready you can claim it in the menu from "Supply Closet" -> "Claim Blueprints" or with the blueprint button (top-left next to "toggle Red Alert") when viewing a colony. Said button lights up blue to indicate you can print a new skin. Unclaimed blueprints will stack up and don't prevent new blueprints from being dropped.
Printing and Recycling
When viewing a skin in the Supply Closet you can choose to recycle it into Filament or print it using stored Filament. The amount of Filament depends on the quality of that skin. Blueprints with quality "Universal" or "Loyalty" can't be recycled or printed. You can undo a recent recyling on the transactions page of your Klei account.

How to use
Buildings
When you try to place a building, you have the option to select a skin out of all respective blueprints you own. Since the February 2024 QoL Update you can change the skin of an existing building under their "blueprint"-tab after selecting it, without the need to rebuild it.
To apply an "Artwork" blueprint you must first let a duplicant decorate the respective building, then order a redecorate errand. You can only choose blueprints with the same art quality (Crude, Quaint or Masterpiece).
Duplicants
Applying a blueprint to a duplicant is slightly different depending if you want to change an already existing dupe or the things a freshly printed dupe wears.
Existing Dupe
- Select the dupe
- Switch to "Blueprint"-Tab under Options
- Choose an outfit either via
- Selecting the Clothing or Atmo Suit outfit below "Select Blueprint" under their respective tabs. It shows all completed outfits from your wardrobe.
- Creating a new outfit by clicking "Restyle". In the new menu you can swap between "Clothing", "Overjoyed Response" and "Atmo Suit" using the arrows. This is the only way to customize their overjoyed response
New Prints
- Open the Supply Closet
- Click "Duplicants"
- Select the personality you want to change in the "Duplicants" part on the left
- On the right you can either restyle the outfit directly or load an outfit from your wardrobe. You can swap between "Clothing", "Overjoyed Response" and "Atmo Suit" using the arrows.
