Radioactive Contaminant
Radioactive Contaminants are a "Germ" designed to represent the effects of nuclear processes on materials. Contaminates can only be created by a Research Reactor, the Radbolt Engine, or a Radbolts passing through a medium.
Contaminated materials will release Radiation at the rate of 1 Rad per Cycle per 1000 Contaminants.
Contaminants have a half life of 1 Cycle which cannot be affected by environmental factors such as Temparature or the material they're attached to.
Contaminants do not cause any disease directly but the ongoing radiation exposure can cause Radiation Sickness.
Decontamination Shower added which cleanses Both the Duplicant and their carried item.

Some Duplicants will have more of a natural resistance to radiation but prolonged exposure to radioactive contaminants will still increase their chances of becoming sick. Consuming Iodine Supplements and Seafood will pro-actively increase a Duplicant's radiation resistance, but will not cure a Duplicant's Radiation Sickness once they have become infected. |
