Berry Sludge is a food item made from 5 Sleet Wheat Grain and 1600 kcal Bristle Berry. It has a Food Quality of Good (+3) and provides 4,000 kcal.

Berry Sludge is one of the best mid-tier foods, and is superior in quality to both Frost Bun and Gristle Berry from Electric Grill.

Its unlimited shelf life allows it to be stored outside of the regular food storage. It and Pemmican are the only Duplicant-craftable foods that cannot spoil.

There are no recipes using Berry Sludge as an ingredient to create more sophisticated food.

Feeding your Duplicants Berry Sludge indefinitely will require 1.25 Sleet Wheat plants and 1.5 Bristle Blossom Plants per duplicant.

Tips

In the DLC, Berry Sludges are an excellent recipe for long term rocket ventures, due to being everlasting as well as having a decent morale bonus. Pickled Meal and Grubfruit Preserve are relatively easier to produce, but only last 32 cycles instead of forever (And in case of Pickled Meal, its quality is Grisly (-1), a significant drawback).
