Rot Pile is leftover from expired Food that will convert to Polluted Dirt after one cycle. It does not (as of build 526946) release Polluted Oxygen until it finishes decaying into Polluted Dirt.
Usage
Compost can turn Rot Pile into Dirt.
Pokeshell can eat Rot Pile and excretes Sand.
If left in the place, Rot Pile will turn into Polluted Dirt over time. Sage Hatches can turn Polluted Dirt into Coal.
Production
After Food is expired, it turns into Rot Pile.
Exuberant plants produce 4000g of Rot Pile when harvested.
Notes
Rot Pile is not an element. Instead it is an item with element of Genetic Ooze.
