Sweepy

The Sweepy is an automated sweeping robot that cleans up debris left on the ground.
Sweepy can be made by the Sweepy Dock, which is located in the Utilities bar
A Sweepy can hold up to 500 kg of materials. When it collects over 500 kg of debris, it will try to return to its Sweepy Dock to deliver collected materials and liquids.
The Sweepy will explode when its dock is destroyed.
The Sweepy can be renamed to anything you wish by clicking on it, and then clicking on the "rename" button next to its name.
The Sweepy cannot move vertically through any means, and is unable to cross gaps of any size.
- It also does an expression that runs for several in-game seconds when it encounters any gap; thus, it should be deployed in a pit.
Suggested Uses
Where Dupes are available, or in locations that are monitored by an Auto-Sweeper, Sweepy is vastly outperformed, especially in the matter of gathering Solids.
However, Sweepy is of use in Spaced Out!, which features some places that are very hazardous to Duplicants. The most notable example of this is radioactive biomes that are inhabited by Beetas; the locals ignore the robot.
Furthermore, compared to the Auto-Sweeper, Sweepy can mop floors and collect liquids. Again, this is of use in radioactive biomes with Beetas; Beetas have fast life cycles and will release Nuclear Waste when they die. Sweepy can collect this more safely than Dupes with Lead Suits could.
Where Sweepy can shine is in frequently flooded places, like in vicinity of Jet Suit Dock, if the player uses Yellow Alert Priority frequently, thus leading to making a mess by Duplicants.
Trivia
- Since any Sweepy will explode when its dock does not exist, a Sweepy can be spawned in sandbox/debug mode but immediately explodes upon doing so. Instead, spawn 25kg of refined metal and get a Duplicant to deliver it to a Sweepy Dock and it will be crafted.
- Sweepy does not have a decor bonus on its own, but can be used as a display (like the Pedestal).
- Sweepy will not wander further than ~30 tiles from its dock in either direction.
- Sweepy cannot fall off a tile unless the tile underneath is destroyed.
- Sweepy will not pick up critter eggs.
- When Sweepy is on a horizontal Mechanized Airlock or Manual Airlock when it opens, the Sweepy can fall and become separated from its dock, requiring a Duplicant to retrieve it and return it to its dock.
