Trailblazer Lander is the Lander with which Duplicants land on a new Planetoid.

It is deployed from a Trailblazer Module when the Rocket is on the Starmap hex adjacent to a Planetoid.

Tips

  • Since it is deconstructible, the 400kg Refined metal (with which the Trailblazer Module was supplied with before the Rocket launched) can be recovered. When sending two Trailblazer to a new planet, the combined 800kg Refined Metal can be used to construct a Rocket Platform, allowing the Rocket to land.
  • The Trailblazer Lander provides no life support. It is only a means to transport a Duplicant to the surface of an asteroid that has no Rocket Platform. It also cannot be used to return to the Rocket from which it deployed. Therefore, the player must be careful that a deployed Duplicant doesn't suffocate before building a Rocket Platform, enabling the Rocket to land. This is especially difficult when starting a game on the Radioactive Ocean Asteroid, where Reed Fiber is not available to make Atmo Suits until the player colonizes a distant asteroid. Sometimes you can land on planetoids you don't know.
  • It is possible to deconstruct the Lander while it is en route. Doing so will delete the duplicant and crash the game shortly thereafter, apparently the first time the game tries to check the duplicant list. This has been reported to Klei.
