Ruins
Ruins is the unofficial name for random features that are randomly spread through the biomes. They contain a few interactable buildings such as:
- Neural Vacillator
- Anti Entropy Thermo-Nullifier (only in the Frozen Biome)
- Lockers
- Vending Machine
- Computer Desk
When inspected, they will deliver Lore records.
Ruins are made of mosaic Tiles (usually made of Obsidian), and also may contain Copper-made Batteries, automation elements, and wiring, as well as Plastic Ladders, Light Fixtures, Tables, or Clocks. While some of these are of these are deconstructible in the same manner as regular buildings, others require the skill demolition (3rd tier building skill) to deconstruct. Many elements will yield the resources used to construct them, though some will not - most notably anything made from Neutronium, as well as Plastic Ladders, probably to deny the player early access to Plastic. Wiring and automation are usually arranged into simple puzzles that prevent direct access inside, although most of them can be deconstructed (with the exception of directional Security Doors).
Certain ruins are covered by the Fog of War until a door is opened or a duplicant is forced into the room.
Any slime that is part of the ruins does not have any Slimelung. Ruins also tend to disrupt biome borders made of abyssalite if spawned close to them, and therefore can be identified by anomalous conditions in the vicinity.
Lobby Hall
In the Space Biome, there always are the ruins of the Gravitas Lobby Hall. They contain some special buildings that are only found there, including a Broken Elevator, Chandelier, Coffee Tables, Director's Desk, Doctorate Degree, Electronic Displays, Filing Cabinets, a special Landscape Portrait, Lobby Chairs, Lobby Couches, Lobby Doors, Long Light Fixtures, Reception Desk, Windows, and the Gravitas Monument. Inspecting some of them is needed to get the "Ghosts of Gravitas" achievement.
