Gas Bridge

Gas Bridge runs one section of Gas Pipe over another without joining their systems.

Allows you to manipulate a system that has multiple input and outputs. As the bridge is directional, placing this in line will force the gas to flow in a certain direction when oriented properly.

If it is used at an intersection, where one pipe (source) is joined with a bridge (input) and a regular section of pipe (also input) all on the same tile, the game will prefer supplying the bridge with gas before the pipe. This allows you to direct the flow in a preferred direction and have the excess, should that other section become full, go to a sink of your choice, such as a vent.

Tips

  • The flow always goes from white (input) to green (output).
  • Press the O key to rotate the bridge before placing it.
  • If not sure of its direction, look for the arrow on the center of bridge.
  • Gas Bridge does not hold gas in it at all; Gas does not exchange heat with bridge it flows and will not leak when the bridge is deconstructed.
  • There are several Tricks that are possible with Gas Bridges:
    • If another output pipe is connected at the Bridge's input, the gas will exclusively flow through the Bridge until its output is full. This is unlike the normal branching where it's split 50/50.
    • Conversely, if another input pipe is connected at the Bridge's output, the gas from the Bridge will be blocked until the other input pipe is empty.
