Gas Pump is one of the buildings required for atmosphere management. It draws in Gas from the tiles that it occupies with a rate of up to 500g/s and runs it through the connected Gas Pipes. Gas pipe can transfer up to 1000 g of gas, so to fully utilize the pipes two Gas Pumps are necessary.
Tips
- Gas flow always goes from green to white.
- Gas Pumps will continue to consume the same amount of power while pumping less, unless they are temporarily disabled, so putting Atmo Sensor set to "above 500" nearby will increase their power efficiency.
- When submerged in a mixed gas, Gas Pumps can create gas packets over 500g, though the total rate will be still limited to 500g/s.
- A Gas Pump's maximum drawing rate is half that of the maximum generation rate of an Electrolyzer, so to handle all the generated gas of one Electrolyzer you need two Gas Pumps.
- Gas Pump has a base overheat temperature of 75 °C167 °F and will overheat in hot gases. Choose Gold Amalgam or Steel as the building material according to the environment temperature.
- Because of the relatively low throughput of Gas Pump compared to Liquid Pump (20x higher throughput) and Conveyor Loader (40x higher throughput), it might be preferable to condense the gas into Liquid or Solid before transporting a large amount of gas.
