Pikeapple Bushes are cold-loving Plants that consume Phosphorite and produce edible Pikeapples. Floxes graze on them for food. They can be found growing natively in the Ice Cave Biome.
Growth
Pikeapple Bushes drop 800kcal of Pikeapple upon harvest.
Domestic vs. Wild
Domestic Pikeapple Bushes take 3 cycles to grow, producing Pikeapple at a rate of ~266.66kcal/cycle. Additionally, they must be fertilized with 5kg/cycle (~8.33g/s) of Phosphorite.
Wild Pikeapple Bushes take 12 cycles to grow, producing Pikeapple at a rate of ~66.66kcal/cycle. They do not require any fertilization.
Usage
Pikeapple Bushes produce Pikeapples when harvested, which can be eaten by Duplicants to restore Calories:
- If eaten raw, at least 3.75 domestic or 15 wild plants must be grown to sustain each Duplicant.
- If first cooked into Pikeapple Skewers at the Electric Grill, each plant will instead produce 400kcal/cycle if domestic or 100kcal/cycle if wild, reducing the amount of plants per Duplicant to 2.5 domestic or 10 wild plants, respectively.
Some Critters consume Pikeapples, or feed directly from Pikeapple Bushes:
- Floxes consume 20%/cycle of a Pikeapple Bush's growth, or 160kcal/cycle of Pikeapples, converting them into 5kg/cycle of Dirt (0.6 domestic/2.4 wild plants per Flox).
- Hatches consume 700kcal/cycle of Pikeapples and convert them into 656.3g/cycle of Coal (2.625 domestic/10.5 wild plants per Hatch).
- Sage Hatches consume 700kcal/cycle of Pikeapples and convert them into 875g/cycle of Coal (2.625 domestic/10.5 wild plants per Sage Hatch).
