Skill Scrubber
Duplicants will lose all assigned skills in the process.
Duplicant operation
Red: Disable
Skill Scrubber completely resets a duplicant's skill tree and refunds the skill points so that they can be reassigned. The corresponding morale requirement for each skill is also reset. The operation takes a total of 180 seconds and does not benefit from the lit workspace bonus. This can be useful to fix mistakes in skill assignments or to lower the morale requirement of a dupe, or simply to reassign a dupe to a different specialty (e.g. from a digger to an operator).
WARNING: The pre-assigned free skills that are awarded when a dupe is printed will also be permanently scrubbed. This is potentially problematic because these skills did not originally require a skill point, and re-acquiring them requires learning all prerequisite skills, which costs additional skill points and adds extra morale requirements that would not otherwise be needed. Note the free skill itself still has no morale cost. Careful consideration should be taken before scrubbing a dupe with pre-assigned free skills.
Tips
- Before sending Duplicants to travel between Planetoids (be it through teleporters or rockets), it is often useful to scrub their skills and assign only the needed skills. This can also lower their morale requirements when traveling.
- Once the primary asteroid has been mined out, it is often useful to scrub the dupes with digging skills and reassign those skills to something else (e.g. operating, cooking, ranching)
- Since Skill Scrubber doesn't save its progress per duplicant, it is possible that a duplicant preheats the Skill Scrubber to reset skills immediately.
