Dehydrator is a building the allows the creation of dehydrated food packs.

Usage

It takes 6000 kcal of any food prepared with the Gas Range and 12 kg of Plastic to create 6 packs each of dehydrated food.

The food and plastic must first be loaded into the dehydrator and Natural Gas piped in.

The dehydration process is somewhat long at 250 seconds (almost half a cycle). The unloading requires duplicant operation for an additional 50 seconds. When unloading, six dehydrated food packs and 6 kg of water are expelled at the bottom middle cell at 95 °C / 203 °F.

Dehydrated food packs never spoil. They need to be restored in the Rehydrator before they can be consumed. Each pack provides 1000 kcal.

Food that was spiced prior to dehydration will retain the spice upon being rehydrated.

The Dehydrator uses Resupply errands.
