Mafic Rock is a construction material that exists in the Space Biome and the Rust Biome. When Mafic Rock is heated to 1411.85 °C (melting point + 2 °C), it will turn into Magma.pngMagma Rock Gas.png Igneous Rock.png.

Usage

Mafic Rock is first and foremost attractive due to its comparatively low Thermal Conductivity, which makes it a quite decent insulator. However, due to it not being a Plumbable, it cannot be used to build (Insulated) Liquid Pipes. So, if Insulite.pngInsulation or Ceramic.pngCeramic Magma.png aren't available in bulk, Mafic Rock is a good substitute for use in Insulated Tiles and Insulated Gas Pipes.

Trivia

  • Although its description states that Mafic Rock is Iron rich, there is no way to extract any Iron from it.
