Granite is a Raw Mineral found in the "Granite ring" that surrounds the starting Temperate Biome or Forest Biome. It is also found in the Frozen Biome, Oil Biome and Barren Biome. It can be used as a general construction material. A Duplicant must learn the Hard Digging Skill to dig Granite.

Usage

Granite is typically accessed quite early as it surrounds the starting point. It has high thermal conductivity but a low thermal capacity, which makes it better suited to transfer Heat between areas rather than insulating it.

Granite carries a +20% decor bonus, 10% higher than the very common Sandstone.pngSandstone Magma.png. Thus, Granite is valuable for constructing buildings that are used for decor, such as paintings or sculptures, or for building Tiles for areas frequented by Duplicants.

Granite has the highest Thermal Conductivity of all the Minerals, making it useful as a poor man's Radiant Pipe. At the same time, this might also be a danger as it might transfer undesired temperatures.
