Copper Ore
Copper Ore is one of the Resources found in the Temperate Biome.
Sources
Copper ore blocks only exist in the Temperate Biome, usually in moderately large nodes surrounded by vacuum or an atmosphere of Carbon Dioxide. Strips of copper ore blocks can also line cavities. To a lesser extent, isolated blocks can be found buried in natural blocks.
Copper ore can be found in geodes.
Some Meteor Showers bring Copper Ore in Space Biome.
Copper ore can also be recovered from Space Missions on Rocky Asteroids.
Digging
Like many other natural blocks, copper ore blocks can be dug out by Duplicants, producing a high pitch noise similar to that produced when cutting metal.
Usage
Copper ore is the first metal ore you are likely to encounter. Because of its +10% decor bonus, it can be useful for building Fire Poles and Mess Tables.
- Metal Refinery can refine Copper Ore into Copper.
- 100 kg Copper Ore = 100 kg Copper.
- Rock Crusher can break Copper Ore into Copper and Sand.
- 100 kg Copper Ore = 50 kg Copper + 50 kg Sand.
- Stone Hatches can eat Copper Ore and excrete Coal. It will increase the chance of laying Smooth Hatch eggs.
- Smooth Hatches can eat Copper Ore and excrete Copper.
Production
It can be harvested on rocket missions to renewable Space POIs:
- In Rocky Asteroid Fields at a rate of 108 – 324 kg per cycle.
- In Metallic Asteroid Fields at a rate of 94.5 – 283.5 kg per cycle.
- In Sandy Ore Fields at a rate of 54 – 162 kg per cycle.
