Isoresin
Isoresin is a rare resource that can only be acquired from Space Missions to destinations containing it with a Cargo Bay equipped.
It should be stored in a place that is below 200 °C, otherwise Isoresin will melt into Naphtha, which cannot be reversed.
Usage
Molecular Forge produces Insulite from Isoresin, Abyssalite, and Reed Fiber:
- 15 kg Isoresin + 80 kg Abyssalite + 5 Reed Fiber = 100 kg Insulation
Molecular Forge produces Visco-Gel from Isoresin and Petroleum:
- 35 kg Isoresin + 65 kg Petroleum = 100 kg Visco-Gel
Production
Heating Liquid Resin to above 125 °C, most of its mass, 75%, turns into Steam while 25% turns into Isoresin. For that reason, Isoresin's melting point was changed to 200 °C (from 100 °C) with the Spaced Out! DLC
Trivia
Both materials produced out of Isoresin are results of materials re-balances. Insulation recreates Abyssalite's extreme heat insulation properties from when it could be used to build Tiles, Insulated Tiles and pipes directly, and Visco-Gel's high viscosity used to be a characteristic of Naphtha.
